Live is for living, and I’m going to live it
You don’t have to change the way you look.
You have to change the way you see yourself.
Recognize that the size of your body does not dictate your worth as a human being.
You are so much more than a number.
Your weight does not define you.
Remind yourself that the scale is just a piece of metal.
It may be able to measure how much you weigh, but it can’t measure the size of your heart.
A scale can’t calculate how many people love you or the positive impact you’ve made on their lives.
It can’t measure your intelligence or what kind of friend you are.
It doesn’t take into account your passions and goals and morals and dreams and attitude and they way you treat others.
All it does is to tell you your relationship with gravity.
And in the grand scheme of things, that number is such a small part of who you are.
When the people who love you see you, they don’t see you as a number—they see you for who you are as a person. They see beyond what you look like—they see your soul and your spirit.
Instead of trusting the negative voice inside your head, trust the people who love you.
Trust that they love you for exactly the person you are.
Trust that because the size of their body does not factor into whether or not you love them, that the size of your body does not factor into whether or not they love you.
Have faith that although making peace with your body and finding freedom from your negative thoughts isn’t easy, it is possible.
It starts when you begin to challenge the thoughts telling you that you aren’t good enough and adopt new, self-loving and accepting beliefs.
It starts when you get off the scale and start living your life.
It starts when you engage in life and recognize that the way you feel about your body doesn’t have to hold you back.
It starts when do things you’re passionate about and realize that pursuing your dreams and doing what you love is so much more empowering and fulfilling than losing weight.
It starts when you begin creating relationships with people over your relationship with the scale.
It starts when you stop defining yourself by the way you look, and start holding onto who you are as a person and all the wonderful things that make you, you—things that have absolutely nothing to do with weight.
There is nothing wrong with your body.
It is perfect in it’s imperfection.
And it’s enough.
You just have to give yourself permission to love it.
